Year 5 Planetarium Visitor

Recently, Year 5 were visited by the Yorkshire Planetarium, which allowed them to have a topic lesson outside the classroom, taught by a local astrologist.

The children marvelled at the size of our Solar System; especially how long it would take to get to Mars! Their appreciation of the size of the planets was evident when they saw how many Earths would fit inside Jupiter (1299!). They were also amazed to discover the answer to why Pluto is no longer a planet!
